Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation, Double ‘heavy’ foundation
June 19th 2019
This is a great foundation however it is overrated. I like trying different foundations and I have found that this one is very very heavy on my skin. It's full coverage without being too matte or drying. I have combination skin, so I do need to set it with powder and it can be drying in places if I’m not careful. If you have dry skin, you can wear it without setting. It's a thick liquid, but not so thick that it's difficult to blend out. You can wear a thin layer for everyday or build up the coverage for special occasions. As I said, I set it with powder, so for me it lasts the whole day without any touch ups - unless it's really hot, in which case I blot rather than powdering more. The foundation comes in a variety of shades with different undertones, so finding a match is relatively easy and you can always go in store to a boots or Debenhams where they will match you to the right shade for this foundation. The finish is demi matte. Every time I wear this, I get complements on how beautiful my skin is. Even though it's a full coverage, it doesn't look heavy or cakey. I recommend this to anyone who loves a full coverage base and flawless looking skin. The only thing I would change is the packaging. It comes in a rectangular, frosted glass bottle with navy and gold writing and a gold cap, which is beautiful but not very practical. You can purchase a pump to go with it but I would prefer a squeeze tube like the Double Wear light. I would recommend it but I would definitely make sure the shade is right for you because sometimes it can be too orange if you are extremely pale like myself.
